Nehamiah foundation has helped many families get into affordable housing. Vivian Dillard is just one family that the foundation has helped.
The mission of the Nehemiah Program is to see that more affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households, homeless and near-homeless individuals becomes a reality for St. Louis families, and through its housing programs bring about improved economic opportunities for these citizens and the communities in which they exist.
It is a pleasure to share with you the phenomenal difference that The Nehemiah Program is making for hundreds of St. Louis families!
The Nehemiah Program envisions a world in which every person lives in a safe, decent, and affordable housing in thriving neighborhoods filled with people who take a vested interest in the neighborhood's success. Our goal is to be the leading catalyst in the community hope, health, and neighborhood stabilization in St. Louis most challenged neighborhoods.  We accomplish this goal by implementing and focusing on three very unique and highly ective affordable housing initiatives-- transitional housing and rental and home ownership opportunities particularly for families
Additionally, our goal is to support the path of every individual and family that is in need of housing support and in some cases dually challenged byissues that range from domestic violence, mental health, and more.  Others we serve are victims of predatory lenders, foreclosure, or that are simply classified as low- to moderate-income.  We thrive to alleviate the worry of housing as individuals or families work to become self-sufficient and free from issues that complicate success in permanent housing.

The Facts!
Homelessness in St. Louis has reached record numbers.  In a recent study, the St. Louis Homeless Hotline responded to over 11,000 calls representing over 5,000 St. Louis households.  Sadly enough, many of the individuals and families now experiencing homelessness have simply been victimized by realtors who’ve used unfair lending practices, have experienced sudden job loss, home foreclosure or have simply been hard hit by the recent economic turndown.
It just takes a few months for those who have modest incomes to find themselves in crisis or struggling to meet their housing budgets and suddenly find themselves facing homelessness.  To respond to this now epidemic level of homelessness in St. Louis, the Nehemiah Program, has coordinated a critical mass of community, civic and corporate leaders and created the Nehemiah Housing Program, a 501c3 not for profit organization.
The Nehemiah Program provides qualifying individuals or families with home ownership and rental opportunities in single- and multi-family scattered housing units that are located throughout St. Louis City and County. We also provide emergency temporary transitional housing for those individuals and families not yet prepared for permanent housing.  Each of our housing programs connect clients with employment assistance, home ownership training, financial literacy, and additional social supports as identified in our application process to ensure their individual and neighborhood success.
Your support is critical to our success!
Support from volunteers, donors, and partners is vital to our success and those individuals needing our help.   Through the generous support of our donors, sweat equity, and a 100% volunteer staff, we are able to boast that we are one of the most cost-effective affordable housing agencies in the region.
As you peruse our website, we hope that the facts contained herein will help you decide to join us in our efforts to bring some hope and respite to the now 87,000 homeless Missourians who are the tragic focus of our programs and services.
