A New Year with New Families to Help
Dear Friends,
Blessings to you and your families in the new year! The new year unfortunately brings new adversity to many families in the Saint Louis area. These families are affected by homelessness and near-homeless families due to the influx of home foreclosures, job closures, predatory lending, and issues like businesses simply downsizing, --many once stable families are finding themselves homeless. And as many of you know, the Nehemiah Program is an affordable housing agency that provides rapid rehousing specifically for homeless or near homeless families with children through the provision of single family transitional homes.
We believe that no matter what the situation, every family deserves a place to call home. Well, we provide the homes while these families transition and stabilize, However, some of our families are still challenged daily paying their utility bills, purchasing food, clothing, furniture, and gift giving for their kids.
The makeup of these families span from single parents with children, women fleeing domestic violence, families who were victims of predatory lending, under-employed and the list goes on.
Our goal is for each of these familes to experience the hope of a brighter future, and it is with your help that we can continue to spread our mission by providing help to those who need it the most. YOU can make a difference!
